Where are you from, and how would you describe your life growing up?
I grew up in a small city, the younger of 2 kids. I was not very active in extra-curricular activities. We were a middle class family. I was married at the age of 18 and moved away from family with my husband
How did you find your way in front of a camera, modeling?
I am friends with the photographer, Deanna and she had posted this opportunity on Facebook. I contacted her and asked if I could do it, just for the experience
What do you like best about being a model?
I love being pampered, having my hair and makeup done. Everyone involved is so uplifting and positive
Where do you get your support?
I have a wonderful support group with my bellydance troupe members as well as my husband of 40 years
What do you think is the most challenging thing about modeling and what advice would you give to new models?
Don’t be nervous. Have fun. If you have a great photographer, she will talk to you and make you forget that you are being photographed, just having fun
What is your favorite way to relax? What do you do for fun?
We have a cabin at a lake just an hour drive away from home. We love to go there on weekends in the summer. We also love to travel, having been to places like China, Egypt, India, Dubai, Hawaii, just to name a few. In the evenings, we are content to stay at home and watch TV.
Anything about your heritage, ethnicity, or nationality that you feel people would like to know?
Please share something about yourself that may surprise others. What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done? People are always surprised that I am a female, and that I do pyrotechnics. It’s a real adrenaline rush
What are your dreams and goals and ambitions?
Right now, retirement lol
If you were in a magical machine that could transport you to any place and time imaginable, where would you love to be?
Why? I would love to be on a tropical island. Antigua is my favorite. It is always warm, and the people are friendly. And the beaches are superb
What’s one thing about yourself that everyone should know?
I was a victim of a car/pedestrian accident in 2007 which affected my mobility. Doctors said that I may never walk again but I was determined. I was back belly dancing 8 months later
Do you have any favorite quotes that you would like to share?
Life’s Short. Eat dessert first.
What does being published in this Modelz View magazine mean to you?
I feel that it is important to show others that you can do whatever you set your mind to if the right opportunity comes along.
