Caitlynn Mccauley Exclusive Interview
- What sort of person is going to love this character?
I think there are a lot of women out there who will identify with Angela’s desire to keep her family together and the struggles of keep a marriage together when it’s been through hardships.
- How is this character like you? Different?
Angela’s desire to put her family and husband before all else is at the core of her and my values. I’d say the biggest difference is the lengthens at which she will go to keep her marriage together.
- Is it easier to play this character or to be yourself?
It’s always way more fun to be someone else. However, I think as an actor the best performances come when the actor is able to take a part of their own inscape and build it into a fully developed person.
- What do you love about this character?
I love where she started as a person from season one and the inner strengthen and darkness she embraces to take charge of her own life when she is surrounded in chaos and a group of violent men trying to make all the decisions for her.
- What do you hate about this character?
I guess the thing I hate the most about Angela is how long she acts as a bystander in her own life and the amount of time it takes her to start fighting for what she wants.
- What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role?
For me the biggest challenge about taking on the role of Angela was the amount of patience and passiveness she exhibits as she struggles in her life before she gives into some of her darker desires. Letting her inner demons slowly bleed through took more patience then I originally thought.
Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle this character?
I am a huge Emily Blunt fan. I think she has an incredible ability to portray women who are struggling with uncertainty within themselves at moments of huge change in their lives but, still find a way to step forward through their struggles even if it’s not gracefully.
- Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?
My favorite line of dialogue was ad-libbed between myself and Kris Salvi but, unfortunately, it’s a scene that was deleted during the editing process. So I’d have to say my favorite line to perform, so far has been the argument between Maria and myself in the first season and it sets the tone for our relationship.
