A huge fan of video games : Hama Rae

Where are you from, and how would you describe your life growing up?

I am from Pittsburgh. I was very blessed to have two parents living together throughout my childhood. I went to a small school, was very sociable and made friends easily.

How did you find your way in front of a camera, modeling?

I did my first shoot in college when I was 21. My friend was a singer in a band and they had just launched their first tshirts. They asked me to model them and that’s how it started. After college I took a few years off due to anxiety. Later I began dating the CEO of the Pittsburgh Knights in 2017 who also asked if I would model some merch they were launching. That was how I began modeling again and now pursuing it more professionally.

What do you like best about being a model? 

Struggling with anxiety and depression for years, modeling gave me a way to feel beautiful and to love myself.

Besides modeling what is the most important thing in your life?  Do you have any unusual talents?

I just recently became a mother. And it is the greatest joy I have ever experienced. Becoming a mom only drives my dream of modeling harder, because I want to show my daughter that following your dreams, no matter the struggle, is important to happiness.

Other than that, I consider myself a professional nerd. I love videogames, and most things Marvel related. I’d like to write novels one day too. But one dream at a time!

We all need support in life.  Where do you get your support?  What or who inspires you?

My biggest inspiration would have to be my mom. As cliche as it can sound, my mom is my best friend. She has sacrificed so much to take care of me and now my daughter. The father of my child left me when I informed him I was pregnant. So my mom stepped in and has been such a huge support and help to me. I don’t know where I’d be without her.

What do you think is the most challenging thing about modeling and what advice would you give to new models?

I think the most challenging thing is learning your self worth and confidence. Often when I meet new models I see how camera shy they can be or how they judge their images so harshly. I think learning to be confident is key to being a successful model.

What is your favorite way to relax?  What do you do for fun?

My favorite way to relax is cuddling up with my daughter and watching some netflix, or reading to her. I also am a huge fan of videogames and spend a lot of time gaming.

You look amazing.  What do you recommend for those wanting to keep in shape?

Lots of water! Water is so important. I also am terrible at keeping up with a healthy well balanced diet, but I will say that adding some extra fruit in the morning has helped me tremendously.

What would you consider your strongest attribute?  What do guys compliment you most on?

I personally love my eyes. They often have their own personality. Sometimes they are dark gray in the shade. And in the sun they love to glow! Guys tend to agree with that and often compliment my eyes.

What do you think is the best thing about a man?

Honesty. If a man can be honest with me, regardless if it hurts my feelings, he gets an A+ in my book.

Anything about your heritage, ethnicity, or nationality that you feel people would like to know?

I am as European as they come. I am mostly French, but I have some German, Hungarian and Polish in me.

Please share something about yourself that may surprise others.  What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

To be honest, I never did anything that others would consider adventurous. I think doing my first lingerie photoshoot was the most “out of comfort zone” thing I ever did. And I did it for that reason.

What are your dreams and goals and ambitions?

I would do anything to travel to Japan, and potentially live there. I have loved Japan since I was a child. Other than that, I would love to become an independent successful woman for my daughter to look up to.

If you were in a magical machine that could transport you to any place and time imaginable, where would you love to be?  Why?

Like my previous answer, I would love to go to Japan. Modern day Japan I would say

A guilty pleasure? I am a nerd. Dress up as Spiderman and come save me 😘

What’s one thing about yourself that everyone should know?

You can win my heart with anything Pokemon or Marvel related… especially Spiderman.

Which superhero is your favorite and why ?

Spiderman. Because he is snarky and charismatic, but always does what is right.

If you had a chance to meet a superhero or heroine, and had a day to spend with him/her, who would it be and what would you talk about?

Spiderman. And I would want to know everything about him. His hopes and dreams. His favorite part of being a hero and his least. And to beg him to take me swinging!

If you had to create your own superhero/heroine, what would be his/her powers?

I definitely think I would keep the spidey sense from Spiderman. But I love the powers of Dr. Strange. So perhaps a Spiderman/Dr.Strange hybrid

What does being published in Modelz View magazine mean to you?

Being published would mean that my hard work in earning my confidence would finally pay off. That being a nerdy model is just as important as any Victoria Secret model.
